My training
I am a fully qualified counsellor/psychotherapist, based in Cambridge CB4. I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and I am an accredited member of the BACP. Most of my Continuing Professional Development has focussed on working with LGBTQI+ communities, trauma, recovering from childhood sexual abuse, eating disorders, anxiety and bereavement. I'm happiest when I'm learning so recently I've been reading a lot about parenting, the long term impact of childhood abuse/trauma and the impact of internalised homophobia on LGBTQI+ clients.
My experience
My experience to date has been broad. I have worked with young people, adults and children. I have mainly worked one-to-one to offer short or long term counselling, but also have some experience of group work. I have worked in schools and charitable organisations, counselling a range of clients.
I have worked at a local primary school as a school counsellor, seeing young people with a wide range of issues. Previous to that, I worked with Centre 33 for over two years. I undertook my training placement at Cambridge Cyrenians, an organisation that provides specialist support to homeless people.
Nowadays I run my own private practice in Cambridge CB4, providing short and long term counselling to adults.
